The Colosseum

Rain, our constant companion on this trip, managed to mostly hold off during our tour of the Vatican (though there was an early torrential downpour while we were safely inside), but it started back up during lunch and affected our original plans.  We drove to several historic Roman sites without getting out of our buses as we made our way to the Colosseum.  By the time we got to the Colosseum, the rain had eased off quite a bit, and though it was still soggy, we made our way around.

In the rain, through the windows of the buses, we still managed to get pictures.

Since even small groups can get spread out, tour guides often provide us with radios that help us hear the information they provide.
